We had a glorious amount of snow for playing in and peacefully watching from our windows. This playtime in the snow is getting us through the remaining days of winter. We still have enough in our woods to go on some snowy hikes before it gets unbearably muddy and slushy. I am rejoicing in all of the moisture that is soaking into our garden bed to nourish the composted soil and prepare us for planting soon. I just finished reading the March issue of Tastebud Magazine and always love to read Brooke’s (from the badseed) Homegrown Revolution articles where she talks about what to be planting in your garden and what tasty food to be looking for locally each month at the markets. Look for this free magazine in local Kansas City grocery stores and look here to peruse past issues. I know this is a lot of talk about spring when I have a very winteresque posting of photos for you today. I am just savoring this last bit of the winter season with my family, but looking forward to the new beginnings of Spring.

photos below … making the most of our plentiful snow
playing, sledding with family and friends, fort building, snow tepees, mini snowmen building, snow tackling and snowy sunset hiking.

Savor this last bit of Winter and enjoy making some spring plans for enjoying the outdoors with your family. I will be posting the Five and One Spring hike schedule soon and really looking forward to spending time with other families while unplugging and enjoying the local nature trails.

great pictures the girls loved that school was out for 4 days over the 2 snow falls. but not loving the idea of the virtual make up day and going 1 more day in may. But we loved the snow memories we created and captured.
Where can you get the Tastebud magazine?
Tastebud is at green acres and possibly at hen house too.
